By Stock Reports | October 13, 2026
A good swing trade candidate needs more than an affordable share price. We look for a business development that deserves attention, improving price action and a setup that gives traders clear levels to monitor.
Our October watchlist features five U.S. listed stocks trading between $5 and $20: PagerDuty, Hafnia, TAL Education, Nu Holdings and First Watch Restaurant Group.
These companies operate in different industries, but each has a reason to remain on our radar. Some already have established upward trends. Others are recovering and still need confirmation before becoming stronger trading candidates.
Here is what stands out about each company and what we are watching next.
1. PagerDuty: Improving Profitability and a Stronger Chart
NYSE: PD | October 13 close: $16.68
PagerDuty helps businesses identify technology problems, coordinate responses and restore services. Its automation capabilities give it a role as customers manage increasingly complex software and AI systems.
For the quarter ended July 31, PagerDuty generated $32.8 million in free cash flow and reported its fifth consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability attributable to common stockholders. Annual recurring revenue reached $501 million.
Why it made our list: Positive cash generation accompanies one of the stronger charts in this group. Since late July, PD has developed progressively higher trading ranges, with recent support around $16.05 to $16.30.
We would prefer a controlled pause or a pullback that holds support before another breakout attempt. Revenue growth was just 0.8%, so stronger customer spending remains important to the longer term business case.
What we are watching: Confirmation above $16.90, with $17.50 and $18.00 as potential upside objectives.
2. Hafnia: Strong Shipping Earnings and Resilient Price Action
NYSE: HAFN | October 13 close: $10.85
Hafnia transports refined petroleum products and chemicals. Its earnings are closely connected to shipping rates, vessel availability and global trade routes.
Net profit for the second quarter reached $277.8 million, compared with $75.3 million a year earlier. That included $39.3 million of vessel sale gains. Average daily time charter equivalent earnings reached $44,093.
Why it made our list: HAFN has recovered from its September setback and is holding near its recent $11.10 high. The $10.50 to $10.70 area provides an identifiable support zone.
The main consideration is whether shipping earnings remain strong enough to support the advance. Rates booked in advance for the third quarter were below the second quarter average, and October’s issuance of approximately 35.5 million shares increased the share count.
What we are watching: Confirmation above $11.15, with $11.50 and $12.00 as potential upside objectives.
All levels refer to HAFN shares listed in the United States and priced in dollars.
3. TAL Education Group: Operating Growth Supports the Recovery
NYSE: TAL | October 13 close: $12.64
TAL provides learning services and educational products, principally in China. Its latest results show substantial improvement in the underlying business.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, revenue increased 31.9% to $758.4 million. Operating income rose to $137.2 million from $14.3 million a year earlier. Because investment valuation movements also boosted reported net profit, operating performance offers a clearer view of the business.
Why it made our list: The earnings improvement accompanies a chart that has recovered from summer lows and developed higher pullback lows. TAL recently reached $13.10 and is consolidating below that level.
Support around $12.35 to $12.50 is worth monitoring. Education policy, competition and the sustainability of growth remain important considerations.
What we are watching: Confirmation above $13.15, with $13.60 and $14.00 as potential upside objectives.
4. Nu Holdings: Customer Growth Behind a Developing Recovery
NYSE: NU | October 13 close: $15.58
Nu operates a digital banking business across Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. Its opportunity comes from adding customers and expanding the financial services they use.
The company ended the second quarter with 139 million customers after adding approximately four million during the period. Quarterly net income reached approximately $1.1 billion, while its monthly activity rate increased to 83.5%.
Why it made our list: Customer growth and profitability provide a business foundation for the stock’s recent rebound. However, NU still faces resistance around $16.14 to $16.19.
We want to see buyers defend $15.20 to $15.40 and establish a higher low. Credit quality also deserves attention: loans overdue by more than 90 days reached 6.9% in the latest quarter.
What we are watching: Confirmation above $16.25, with $16.80 and $17.20 as potential upside objectives.
5. First Watch Restaurant Group: Expansion and an Early Recovery
Nasdaq: FWRG | October 13 close: $12.04
First Watch operates breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurants. New locations and growth at existing restaurants provide two potential sources of expansion.
Revenue for the second quarter increased 15.2% to $354.7 million, while same restaurant sales rose 3.4%. The company opened 18 restaurants during the quarter, bringing its systemwide total to 665.
Why it made our list: FWRG built a base around $10 and has started recovering. Its October 13 advance on approximately 2.38 million shares makes it worth following for signs of a more durable trend.
This remains our least established technical setup. Resistance around $12.20 to $12.50 needs to be cleared, and same restaurant traffic declined 0.4% despite higher sales.
What we are watching: Confirmation above $12.50, followed by potential upside zones at $12.80 to $13.10 and $13.40 to $13.70.
Trading Levels and Entry Discipline
| Stock | TRIGGER Above | Potential Upside | Reassess Below |
|---|---|---|---|
| PD | $16.90 | $17.50 / $18.00 | $15.75 |
| HAFN | $11.15 | $11.50 / $12.00 | $10.50 |
| TAL | $13.15 | $13.60 / $14.00 | $12.20 |
| NU | $16.25 | $16.80 / $17.20 | $15.20 |
| FWRG | $12.50 | $12.80 to $13.10 / $13.40 to $13.70 | $11.25 |
We would look for a daily close above the trigger during the regular trading session, supportive volume, and a retest that holds. All five stocks closed below their triggers on October 13.
The upside levels for PD, HAFN, TAL, and NU are planning projections beyond recent highs. FWRG’s zones reflect earlier trading congestion. Reassessment levels identify where the setups weaken; they are not automatic stop orders.
At the listed triggers, the first objective offers less upside than the downside to the broad reassessment level. A pullback or new consolidation would therefore need to improve the balance before an entry becomes attractive.
PD, HAFN, and TAL receive our first attention. NU needs firmer support, while FWRG needs to establish itself above resistance.
